Dege: the big Tibetan print house
At the border of Sichuan and Tibet is located a small village named Dege . It is known and worshiped in the Tibetan world for its print house. Source of Tibetan Buddhism holy books, the Dege print house generates more than 80% of the Tibetan heritage. The books are actually sheets printed by wooden plates, engraved by hand. This Holy place attracts pilgrims who endlessly turn around its high red walls, thus acquiring merits, and allow them to hope for a better future life.
